SM City Davao opened its doors today as one of the newest hubs for the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination in the city.
The City Government of Davao, through the City Health Office (CHO) and Task Force COVID-19 Vaccination, will first prioritize the sector under A2 (senior citizens) in the mall-based vaccination hub.
Located at SM City Davao’s Cinema 1-3 Lobby, CHO targets to accommodate 200 pre-registered senior citizens per day during weekdays, especially those who reside from Barangays Bucana, Ma-a, Magtuod and Langub.
“We chose SM because we want the senior vaccinees to be comfortable while waiting for their turn to be vaccinated,” shares Davao City Covid-19 Vaccination head Dr. Joy Villafuerte.
CHO’s partnership with SM, Villafuerte added, has been functional and successful.
SM Supermalls is one with the government in providing safe spaces for the vaccination program.
“We imagine a safer country when inoculations happen on a bigger scale in the days to come. SM will be there as a dependable partner of the government,” says Engr. Jonathan Nick Santos, Regional Operations Manager of SM Supermalls Mindanao.
SM City Davao is the second mall-based vaccination hub in Davao City next to SM Lanang Premier. Both malls are working closely with the City Government through City Health Office to ensure health and safety protocols are strictly followed.
