A total of 5,000,353 individuals all over the country got their COVID-19 vaccination during the first run of the National Vaccination Days from November 29 to December 1, 2021.
The National Task Force Against COVID-19 has extended the vaccination campaign until tomorrow, December 3, 2021, in order to accommodate the continuous influx of people to the vaccination sites.
The “Bayanihan Bakunahan: Ligtas. Lakas. Buong Pinas” nationwide vaccination campaign aims to ramp up vaccination to help achieve herd immunity in the Philippines.
“Protecting our health through vaccination will increase our confidence to go out and see our loved ones this Christmas, as well as ensure a safe return to work,” Department of Health (DOH) Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire said earlier.
The Department of Health’s National Vaccination Days Tracker shows high vaccination rates in Region IV-A (733,947), Region III (540,543), Region VII (407,534), Region VI (367,224), Region V (335,786),and Region XII (305,916). The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao only had 102,634 individuals jabbed.
Several regions exceeded their target vaccinations including Region I with a total vaccination of 290,529 or 211.22% of its vaccination target of 137,547. The National Capital Region vaccinated 294,533 or 109.21% of the 269,700 vaccination target. The Cordillera Administrative Region also exceeded its target after it vaccinated 69,848 or 101.36% of the 68,910 vaccination target.(PHOTO COURTESY OF PIA-DAVAO DEL SUR)
